PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: 35 + years as educational leader for Early Childhood Education.
EDUCATION: attended Lane Community College and Umpqua Community College in the study of Early Childhood
Education, Level 8 Oregon Registry Professional Development.
COMMUNITY SERVICE: past PTA president, sports coach, 15+ years’ experience with auctions in the community raising
funds for schools, partnered with our local fire department teaching fire and bike safety to children and active believer
in our local church.
STATEMENT: 40 years ago my family flipped a coin. Heads we go to Oregon. Tails we go to Colorado. Heads it was, so
Oregon here we come! We ended up settling on Jeans Road in Veneta. After falling in love with the peaceful country
living, we weren’t going anywhere! Our girls, both Fern Ridge School District graduates, are now grown, married,
successful and have given us 6 grandchildren.
Children have always held a special place in my heart. In 1996 I reopened Kid’s Akademy Christian Preschool &
Kindergarten. The next 25 years was wonderful. I believe children are sponges that love to learn.
Kid’s Akademy motto “Learning for Life and… Loving It!”. The children we’re learning, loving it, happy and active.
In 2020 I learned both knees were bone to bone and needed to be replaced. Soon after I retired and thought what
next? After my surgeries another door opened. For me that door is position 5 on the Fern Ridge
School District School Board. Here we go another adventure! I am ready and excited to
make a difference for our children, our families, our schools and… our community.
